How neural networks are mapped to our brain functioning.

Neuroscience

Learning how our brain works helped me better understand neural networks.

Last week, I started learning the basics of neuroscience: how the brain learns, forms memories and processes information.

While going through it, I started connecting these concepts with how we train neural networks.

Artificial neural networks were inspired by biological neurons and the connections between them. They take inputs, identify patterns, adjust the strength of connections, and gradually improve through training. Read IBM's article - https://lnkd.in/df-Q6aAX

By studying how the brain processes information, learns and controls actions, researchers are exploring how we can build more adaptive and efficient AI systems and robots.

But what interests me even more is the other side of this connection: how current AI and robotics systems can support neuroscience and healthcare. For example, how they can support therapies for autistic children, help with neurological rehabilitation or use our understanding of neuroplasticity to make learning and recovery more effective.

There is still a lot for me to understand, but learning about the brain is giving me a completely different perspective on AI and robotics and the problems we can solve using them.
